On 22nd June 2024, the Mayor of Earley attended the British Korean War Veterans Appreciation Day held at Reading University. There were 23 veterans in attendance alongside their friends and families. Also in attendance were the former British Ambassador to Korea and the Korean Deputy Head of Mission.
The formal Service of Appreciation was followed by an authentic buffet lunch and entertainment. Speaking about the event, the Mayor said “It was most enjoyable talking to some of the veterans, many of whom had travelled a long way to be there. It was an honour to represent Earley at this important event.”
