An egg-mazing time at the Town Mayor’s Charity Event

On Monday 7th April 2025, Earley Town Council, along with the Town Mayor’s chosen charity Daisy’s Dream, hosted an Easter Event for families at Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve.

Tickets for the event had to be pre-booked, with some walk-in tickets available on the day. Among the activities available were an Easter trail around the lake, Easter themed arts & crafts, a Guess the Number of Eggs in the Jar competition, a Teddy Tombola, as well as plenty of refreshments and cakes. Children also got to meet Daisy the Dog, the Daisy’s Dream charity mascot. It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for such an event at the Nature Reserve, with over 50 children and their families attending.

Daisy’s Dream are a charity providing vital support for children and young people facing bereavement, helping them prepare for a loss or to navigate life after losing someone. This Easter event raised £376.80 which will go towards their work supporting more children and families facing difficult times.

The Town Mayor, Councillor Mike Smith, said “It was really good to see all the children having a great time and so enthusiastic for everything they were doing. The activities, the trail and the guess the number of eggs were all very inventive and worked brilliantly. A fantastic effort – well done!”

Earley Town Council & Daisy’s Dream would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this very worthwhile event. Further donations can be made to Daisy’s Dream at: – https://www.daisysdream.org.uk/donate
