Last week’s Mayor’s Reception saw the presentation of the annual allotment competition awards. The competition is judged by the allotment working group who are looking for well-cultivated plots with a variety of fruit, vegetable and flowers, with plot holders using environmentally friendly practices.

As well as the awards for Best Allotment Winner and Best Allotment Runner Up, this year saw the introduction of a new category for Best Raised Bed / Trough.
