On Sunday 29th September, the Mayor of Earley attended the opening ceremony of the extension of the Gurdwara.
Speaking after the event, the Mayor said “I was honoured to be invited to the grand opening of the extension on the London Road Gurdwara. The very large community made me feel very welcome with lovely food and lots of information about how Sikhism concentrates on equality, hospitality and humility and how this leads to a strong ethos of volunteering. Many volunteers were involved in creating the extension. We were also treated to some lovely singing and music from children and a service to mark the opening. The guest of honour was Lord Inderjeet Singh”.
