On Saturday 2nd November 2024, the Mayor of Earley attended the formal opening of Swallows Meadow.
The University of Reading worked in partnership with Earley Environmental Group to improve the area and have re-opened it as a community green space.
Speaking after the event, the Mayor said “It was a privilege to take part in the formal opening of Swallows Meadow, as an amenity space on the Southern edge of Lower Earley, alongside Prof. Robert Van de Noort, Vice Chancellor of the University of Reading.”
He added “This addition to Earley’s green spaces, is protected for the next three decades, it is open to all and is an important part of the University’s drive to be the best in class when it comes to sustainability.”
