Mayor Attends Unveiling of a Defibrillator & Bleed Control Kit in Earley

On Saturday 2nd November 2024, the Mayor attended the unveiling of a Defibrillator and Bleed Control Kit at Maiden Place Shopping Centre.

The Pye Charitable Settlement Trustees paid for the kits and Woodley & Earley Lions paid for the installation.

Speaking after the event, the Mayor said, “Thanks to the Woodley & Earley Lions Club and the Pye Charitable Settlement Trustees, we now have a Defibrillator and a Bleed Control Kit installed outside the pharmacy in Maiden Place Shopping Centre – this is an important addition to local emergency care, and is only the second Bleed kit in the whole of Wokingham.”

He added “It was an honour to be asked to take part in the unveiling, I sincerely hope they are never needed but am very grateful they are now available.”
