Please see below details of a new part of a local project that is happening to support people and the environment at Brookside Church, Earley.
SHARE is a wonderful charity that now has 15 sites across areas of Reading, Wokingham and Bracknell, meeting the needs of vulnerable people and the environmentally aware. They are running and hosting the latest SHARE site at Brookside Church, next to the Brookside GP surgery on a Wednesday 5.30pm – 6.30pm café open from 5pm. People pay a £1 and can collect as much fresh produce as they can in a shopping basket as well as a few extras, that otherwise would be surplus. Last week they had 62 individuals collect a basket of food, representing 192 individuals.
Brookside Church also run an over 60’s group on a Wednesday 2pm – 4pm for Earley residents, big lunches for local people on specific Sundays (next one is a BBQ on the 18th August). During term time they also run a café with cakes and drinks on a Thursday and Friday 10am – 12.30pm, Mums and toddler group’s on a Tuesday morning and a big youth club with Trinity on a Thursday evening.
