No Mow May

Earley Town Council is again supporting this year’s ‘No Mow May’ campaign by keeping areas of grass uncut at some of its sites and by displaying our very own ‘No Mow Maisie’ at the Council Offices.

‘No Mow May’ is Plantlife’s annual campaign that local residents can take part in, which asks people with lawns to not mow during the month of May, helping to benefit wildlife and the environment.  Plantlife report that approximately 97% of flower rich meadows have been lost since the 1930s, meaning that vital provision for butterflies, bees etc have also been lost.

For more information on ‘No Mow May’ and how you as a resident can get involved, please visit the Plantlife website.
