We’re Letting it Grow – No Mow May

Earley Town Council will once again be participating in Plantlife’s annual No Mow May campaign that encourages all garden owners and green space managers to refrain from mowing lawns, promoting the growth of long grass and wildflowers throughout the month of May.

Leaving patches of grassy areas to grow longer this summer allows native flowers to bloom which provides vital food for pollinators like bees and butterflies and provides shelter for small mammals.

Earley Town Council have selected suitable spaces across Sol Joel Park, Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve, Maiden Place Community Centre, Meadow Park, Mays Lane Cemetery, Paddick Drive and the Town Council Offices in support of the campaign.
