Planning a Platinum Jubilee Street Party?

Wokingham Borough Council have set up an easy way for residents to apply for a road closure so that they can hold a street party to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this summer.

Residents and community groups normally have to pay to cover the cost of road closures (for the signs, diversion routes and administration required) but WBC are dropping the fee for the jubilee weekend of 2nd to 5th June 2022.

Applications can be made via a form on WBC’s website. Applications must be made because major roads, bus routes and those that are needed for emergency services cannot be closed.

The government have also produced a guide to organising a street party.

Applications for closures must be made by 15th May 2022.
